Sherman Cárdenas (born August 7, 1989 in Bucaramanga, Santander) is a Colombian football attacking midfielder who plays for local club La Equidad.
He made his league debut on August 28, 2005 against Real Cartagena. He was 16 years and 21 days old at the time, making him one of the youngest players ever to play in the Copa Mustang,[1] Colombia's top club tournament. He was regarded at one time as one of the brightest stars in south-American history, and has a 'wonderkid' status. He is also a "wonderkid" on the Football Manager series notably in the 2007 edition of the series, also the first edition of Football Manager Handheld.
At the international level, he was part of the Colombian youth squad that won the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games in Cartagena, and played with the Colombian youth team at the 2007 South American U-20 Championship in Paraguay, scoring his first international goal against Venezuela on January 16, 2007.[2]
